Mountaindale East Daycamp
All girls entering 7th grade or above in the fall of 2012, who have taken the 6th grade outdoor unit will be eligible for the Program Aide-in-training (PAIT) unit.
Being a PA is an amazing experience, but with it comes responsibility. The PAIT unit is geared to preparing girls for being PA’s the year after and beyond. The training is intense and friendships made between fellow PAIT’s are strong and lasting.
They will complete the "Program Aide Core and Specialization Training". The training teaches the girls about leadership and how to work with younger girls. They also complete the "Girl Scout Program Aide Outdoor Specialty Training". Two days during the week of camp, the PAITs are placed in units to 'shadow' the PA's and are able to observe what the role of a PA is like. On the last day of camp, the girls that successfully complete the training and activities as a PAIT receive their Program Aide Pin at the Flag ceremony. To earn their Program Aide Patch, the girls must then complete 25 hours of service as a PA at either Mountaindale East or another Girl Scout Camp the following year.
No additional paperwork is required to be in this unit. Register Online and choose the PAIT option. Girl Scout Membership is required if camper is not currently a registered Girl Scout.
