Mountaindale East Daycamp
Mountaindale East Day Camp is 100% volunteer organized and directed. Many people comprise the volunteer staff; Campers, Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, Friends, and Community members who just want to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Unit Leaders - The most crucial volunteer for camp is the Unit Leader. This person spends his/her time at camp working with another Unit Leader and Program Aides to provide guidance to a group of 12-16 Girl Scouts or Tag-a-longs. Unit Leader positions are available for the following groups:
Daisy Units - Girls entering Kindergarten and 1st grade in the Fall of 2012
Brownie Units - Girls entering 2nd and 3rd grade in the Fall of 2012
Junior Units - Girls entering 4th and 5th in the Fall of 2012
Outdoor Skills Unit - Girls entering 6th grade in the Fall of 2012
PAIT Unit - Girls entering 7th grade in the Fall of 2012
Tag-a-long Unit - Campers age up the age of 5 years old
Boys Unit - Boys entering grades 1-6 in the Fall of 2012
Approximately 50 Volunteers are needed for the camp session.
Camp Angels - These are the volunteers who are unable to work at camp, but would still like to help out. Camp Angels have a variety of important jobs such as helping with shopping, loading and unloading equipment, sorting t-shirts, supervising bus rides and many other essential tasks. If you can't come camp, please consider becoming a Camp Angel!
Core Staff - Mountaindale East wouldn't take place if it were not for the dedication of the Camp Directors and the primary organizers who are known as the Core Staff. This key group includes the Registrar, Business Manager, Cook, Resource Coordinator, Craft Coordinator, and the Health/Safety Specialist. Core Staff members meet on a monthly basis to ensure everything at camp runs smoothly. These positions are appointed by the Camp Director. If you are interested in one of these positions, please contact
the Directors for more information.
How To Volunteer
To keep campers safe, all volunteers working with campers must be currently registered as a Girl Scout member or go through an application and screening process to become a member before attending and/or participating in Day Camp.
To volunteer for camp, please complete the GS Adult Membership Form if you have not previously gone through the volunteer application process to become a registered member of GS USA. You can request a packet with the application and reference form to be sent to you (or print it from the Forms/Links section of this site) and return it to the registrar with your membership fee. Online registration for Day Camp can not be done without prior membership or a paper copy of the membership application sent to the registrar.
For more information about these positions, volunteering, or registering as a volunteer, please contact the Directors atdirectors@mtndale-east.org
